    Wine by the glass...top notch!

Plenty of reviews on how terrific POC's food is, but I'd like to comment on the huge, thoughtful and creative wine list by the glass. They must have at least 20 diverse choices.  If you don't ask for staff recommendations to go beyond the usual chardonnay/cabernet you're seriously missing out.

We came in with a party of six and since we'd been out on the beach all day I just wanted something light and refreshing.  My first choice was a tasty Alsatian Riesling.  Most Americans think "sweet" but this French example was dry yet loaded with those wonderful flowery notes. Then our waiter David steered me to a South African Chenin Blanc, a vastly underrated wine varietal but one of my favorite sipping wines.  Last he had been mentioning a Gruner Veltliner blend so I caved in, and he was right on the money.  I knew the Austrian varietal but never blended, and, wow, what a great way to end the evening with a tasty complexity you don't expect in that light a wine.

A note on one of the downsides to having this large a "by the glass" list. Both times we've visited I've been initially served a different wine than ordered but here's a fact...I'll put up with THAT any day as long as they keep having fun with this eye opening list.

Keep up the good work guys and looking forward to visiting you again.

We had a great experience dining at Ports of Call, glad we discovered this great bistro near the end of our vacation that was a dining highlight.  Brian was a fantastic waiter and our food was exceptional.

I was excited place looked very cute as Server was great we ordered a BLT Caesar salad and a crabcake sandwich have waited for a food for over 1.5 hours as everything was made WRONG! Owner/Manager told us" I can take food away and cash you out" after I asked to fix the food! Horrible!

Stumbled on this spot in "downtown" Southport when looking to try something new/different.  We had a really great experience with a party of 7 for a mid-day lunch. There was a guy up front playing really really nice, soft quiet background music. The guy who served up was named Mike I think.  He was the restaurant's wine guy and was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and menu. Food was terrific, I think they make a lot of things from scratch. Highly recommend!
